Elf brothers Ian and Barley Lightfoot race against time, four-legged police and a dangerous curse in their race to fix
their departed father’s half-completed conjuring in the new Disney & Pixar’s animated comedy adventure,
‘Onward’

Their quest is harried, urgent, and ultimately imperiled… sounds like the makings of a hilarious family outing
bound for a bittersweet ending! We see hissing unicorns fighting over trash, plenty of ‘Weekend at Bernie’s’
inspired floppy dad’s missing top-half disguise, a four-legged policeman with an awesome stache, and a Manticore,
once a fearless warrior, now… serving chicken nuggets at a restaurant. The adventures of the Lightfoot brothers as
they race against time seem sure to evoke plenty of laughs and probably a few tears.The movie is directed by Dan
Scanlon and produced by Kori Rae, the team who gave us Monsters University. The film releases on March 6, 2020.

‘Spies in Disguise’ Animated Movie Released |

|
|
'Spies in Disguise' is an animated spy adventure that turns its hero into a common pigeon, but never loses the
character’s charm. Loosely inspired by Lucas Martell’s short film, 'Pigeon: Impossible', the film introduces us to the
self-proclaimed ‘world’s greatest spy’ Lance Sterling and his gifted sidekick Walter Beckett.

While Sterling handles critical missions with flamboyance like James Bond, Beckett is a young scientist with a
knack for inventing non-violent gizmos. The two are compelled to team up when Sterling unwittingly consumes
Beckett’s experimental concoctions and turns into a pigeon. The duo embarks on an exciting mission to take down
Sterling’s nemesis, Killian who’s into stealing Sterling’s identity and weaponising drones.

'Spies in Disguise' has an appealing message on non-violence and misfits, which children could relate and benefit
from. The movie, directed by Nick Bruni and Troy Quane was released on Christmas day, 25th December, 2019.

Pink Floyd AR Experience Comes to Mobile Web

The British rock band Pink Floyd was experimenting with visuals for decades before ‘augmented reality’ was in the
common parlance. However, it’s finally caught up with them in the form of a mobile web-based AR experience
|

|
Earlier this month, Sony Music Entertainment released a comprehensive 18-disk box set titled ‘The Later Years’.
The collection explores the band’s work since 1987, and includes never-before-released recordings.
|
|
|
‘The Later Years’ AR experience, PFLaterYears.com, gives users the choice of five pieces of iconic album art. Once
selected, the album art appears in the camera view. It doesn’t appear as static images but as animations that play
out before your eyes.

The session at the Studio was organised for Arena Animation Counselors with the aim of giving them
exposure to technicalities and expectations of the industry and to production pipelines.

| VISIT AT PHILM CGI STUDIO

20 students visited Philm CGI Studio, where they gained technical and aesthetic insights into the fields
of animation, pre-production and VFX. The students interacted with Sushrut Bothe (Animation
Supervisor), Sumit Mandre (Pre-Production Supervisor) and Dhruti Ranjan Sahoo (VFX Supervisor) on
13th December, 2019.

The session was conducted by RAH S. Suresh Kumar on 14th December, 2019, who addressed 300 students about industry technicalities.

RAH S. Suresh Kumar conducted the seminar on 16th December, 2019, which received positive feedback from the student participants. 13 students attended the session.

Students were educated about job opportunities and career prospects in the field of VFX through
informative and interactive sessions held on 16th, 17th and 18th December, 2019 in Rajkot, which were
attended by 80, 240 and 70 students respectively.

CHARACTER DESIGNING WORKSHOP
|
|
|
|
|
The session, conducted on 17th December, 2019 and attended by 30 students, educated them about the
process, concepts and techniques for development of characters. Students designed their own
characters with weapons and props.

|
ONLINEVARSITY AND CREOSOULS SESSION
|
|
|
|
|
Over 35 students attended this session and were introduced to the benefits and working of Onlinevarsity and Creosouls on 17th December, 2019.
|
|
|

|
|
Students were made aware of the technicalities and career options in the field of Game Design during this interactive session. Over 40 students attended the workshop.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|

|
|
|
Students were given the opportunity of working with clay. As a part of the workshop, they even created a human head using clay. 10 students attended the workshop.

The workshop, which took place on 18th December, 2019 and was attended by 30 students, helped
them understand the technicalities of the world of advertising and ended with them creating their
own advertising campaigns.

BASICS OF DRAWING WORKSHOP

|
Students were taught the nuances of topics like importance of observation for drawing, use of drawing
techniques and tools, addition of lights and shades to drawing, live sketching, etc. in workshops
conducted on 19th and 20th December, 2019, which were attended by 15 and 40 students respectively.
The workshops even included a value added session on the basics of digital paintings.

The end-to-end process of developing their own stories creatively was explained to the students. Held
on 27th December, 2019, students came up with their own stories at the end of the session. 40 students
attended the workshop.

In this International Mixed Martial Arts & Grappling Event that spanned over 27th, 28th and 29th
December, 2019, 300 athletes from 14 states across India, and 12 athletes from Afghanistan and Nepal
participated. Over 8,000 individuals attended the event. Students were also addressed about the
opportunities in Media and Entertainment by Ms. Simmi Singh - Centre Director, Arena Palghar. Among
the luminaries present at the event were Mrs. Ujwala Kale (Palghar Nagar Sevak) and Mr. Arabindra.

The theme of the celebration was the 70s era. A variety of entertainment programs were conducted,
followed by a potluck lunch. Over 30 students participated in this celebration.
