Project Description:

This is a poster for a fictional thought provoking exploration game based in a post-pandemic dystopia. In this game, you are an astronaut that returns back to Earth after spending over 5 years aboard the International Space Station. You go around the map finding secrets in scenic locations to try and find out what happened to the rest of humankind.

Thought Process:

I wanted to create a 90's style hand drawn poster but with a modern twist. Some of my inspirations include the Silent Hill and Legend of Zelda posters. First I created and rendered the full scene in Maya. Later I imported the image into Photoshop and created masks for each object (Background and Foreground). I then used the brush tool to create streaks using my graphics tablet in order to get that hand drawn effect on a separate layer. Finally I blended each of my passes and hand drawn layers to create the final product.
