New Trailer, Poster for Disney’s “Ralph Breaks the Internet”

Disney’s latest trailer for “Ralph Breaks the Internet” has just been released, which
introduces a number of new characters,
including the fierce and fun crew of racers from
online racing game Slaughter Race.

Video-game bad guy Ralph and best friend
Vanellope leave the comforts of Litwak’s arcade
in an attempt to save her game. Their quest
takes them to the vast world of the internet, a
world Vanellope wholeheartedly embraces, so
much so that Ralph worries he may lose the only
friend he’s ever had. Directed by Rich Moore
and Phil Johnston, the film will be released in
India on Nov. 23, 2018.

“Game of Thrones” Win 6th VFX Emmy Awards

Disney Television Animation, an industry leader
in the production of quality animated properties
for television, and Unity Technologies, creator of
the world’s most widely-used real-time 3D
development platform, recently announced a
unique collaboration, “Baymax Dreams”, a
series of three broadcast-quality shorts based
on the Emmy Award-nominated television series,
Big Hero 6 The Series. The 2-3 minute-long
shorts are being created using Unity’s real-time
rendering technology that enhances traditional
animation pipelines by employing non-linear
workflows and tools traditionally used in the
gaming industry.

Directed by Simon J. Smith (Bee Movie,
Penguins of Madagascar and Shrek 4D),
“Baymax Dreams” features the cutting-edge
robot, Baymax, dreaming of electric sheep,
bedbugs, and duplicates of himself. The shorts
debuted on DisneyNOW and Disney Channel
YouTube Saturday, September 15.

Rovio Entertainment Launches Angry Birds AR Game on Magic Leap
|
|
|
|
|
Rovio Entertainment announced the launch of the AR
version of its best known game – Angry Birds – on the
Magic Leap One Creator Edition platform. Titled Angry
Birds FPS: First Person Slingshot, the game is
developed in partnership with Resolution Games, an
AR and VR game developer, and will be launched this
autumn.

SESSIONS AND SEMINARS FOR ARENA STUDENTS

Mr. Tejas Porecha, Regional Academic Head of Arena, conducted Student Sessions on Concept Visualization,
Typography and Current Designing Trends at Arena Animation on 18th September 2018, which was concluded
with awareness on Creosouls and the significance of the platform. 17 students participated in the Session. He
also conducted College Seminars on Insights and Career Scopes in Animation and VFX on 18th and 21st
September, which were attended by 200 and 25 prospects respectively

MASTER CLASS ON FILM MAKING BY

BOLLYWOOD DIRECTOR AKSHAT VERMA
|
|
|
Arena Animation organised a Master Class by renowned Bollywood writer/director Akshat Verma of “Delhi Belly”
and “Kaalakaandi” fame. Students got expert tips on importance of a good script, teamwork and co-ordination in
Bollywood filmmaking at the Master Class, which was followed by a question-answer session.

ONLINE TRAINING OF CREOSOULS
|
|
|
Online training of Creosouls Platform was conducted for Arena students and faculty for helping them understand
the Platform better. Creosouls is an online Portfolio Management and Social Networking Platform for students and
business partners. It offers a wide range of engagements like portfolio management, quality of training and
assignments, direct information about job opportunities, mentorship from experts and the opportunity to
participate in competitions.

SESSION WITH SANDALWOOD FILM DIRECTOR MR. CHAITANYA
|
|
|
A session with Sandalwood film director was conducted for 30 students of Arena Creative Campus who are
working on a short film as well as an animation film. The idea of conducting such sessions is to broaden their
perspective and to give them deep insights from the masters themselves.

|
The session was all about the opportunities in the Sandalwood Movies for Animation & VFX. The highlight of the
session was that Mr. Chaitanya is ready to pick good students for his future projects. He also mentioned that
Arena students can work with any film director in an assistant director position. This is a great opportunity for
Arena students to get into the film industry

KM Chaitanya is one of the top filmmakers of the Kannada film industry. His debut film won the Filmfare Award.

WORKSHOP ON SHORT FILMS

A small workshop on how to make short films by industry expert Puneet Sharma was conducted for Arena
students to make them understand all about the process and the softwares to be used in detail.

INDUSTRIAL VISITS TO DOORDARSHAN KENDRA AND TAZZA TV
|
|
|
Arena Animation organised an Industrial Visit to Doordarshan Kendra, Kolkata on 18th September 2018. About
20 students participated where they were taken through a Studio Visit and shown snippets of Post-production,
OB (The mobile van) and Digital Archive. Arena also organised another Industrial Visit to Tazza TV, Kolkata on
19th September 2018, which was attended by 20 students. They were shown the shooting process, explained
the technicalities and demonstrated the studio & program control.
